  • how can t.i., jay-z and lil wayne be up there as best rappers...these cats are garbage.

    when we talk about about best rappers what about wu-tang? kool g rap? kane? biz markie? boot camp ******?

    yall dont no the true meaning of what hip hop is...go listen to your carter vol 7 albums.


  • ROFL, yes and YOU really is the ruler of what "true hip hop" is all about. And all those rappers you mentioned are terrible, all of them. Biz Markie are you for real? LOL! But yeah tho, people like what they like, and I've noticed a lot of people that say Kane and Wu Tang (etc) are the best rappers are people online (and I guess from the suburbs) because they can't relate to a lot of the other stuff. So you like what u like and you're wrong for thinking that your way is the only way.

    @ Justice it's good to see that there's another Scarface fan on here, I was beginning to think I was the only one.

  • you may be right. But i think the reason ppl think that rappers like t.i., Jay-z, and lil wayne are the best rappers is because you find them on bet, and mtv and tv shows like that. But u dont really find wu-tang, kool g rap, and ppl like that

    Speakin for myself, also I base rappers on the century we living in now. For me im a 90's baby. I dont really know or heard much about those rappers.


  • Alright but if you mention Kanye and Biz Markie and say Jay-Z is garbage then something is wrong. I like both Biz and Kanye a little but Jay is easily the better choice.


  • Who are you directing this thread too? If you like Wu-Tang, Kool G Rap etc, common sense should tell you others will, your not the only person on the earth that is a fan of them. People like different rappers for different reasons, it doesn't mean their wrong. My favorite rapper is Scarface, someone else might hate Scarface. It doesn't mean he/she is wrong. It just means she has a different taste and the world would be very boring if we all had the same taste.

  • Most of the people who say that are still only like 15 years old, so what can you do... Wait till they're about 18, that's when they can start listening to music on their own rather than be force-fed by the media.

    And @ Allison, so what if you're a 90's baby. It's music, it doesn't disappear after it comes out, go on youtube and listen to some stuff that came out when you were young. Illmatic is my favorite album ever, and I was 5 when it came out, but so what. It's not going to be something that came out in my teenage years, that means I'd be choosing from Plies, Lil' Wayne, and Young Jeezy. No thanks.

    There's no "rule" that says "YOU MUST ENJOY THE MUSIC OF THE WU-TANG CLAN AND HAVE AT LEAST TWO OF THEIR ALBUMS OR ELSE YOU IPOD WILL BE DESTROYED".

    What I think is good, you might not think is good. And that's cool.

    The true meaning of hip-hop is not to listen to what everyone else says is good. In fact, that's probably the opposite of the meaning of hip-hop.
