  • Hey Lobo,

It depends on whether you bought the commercial licensed version or the private version whether you can can the [?]. According to their site you can not change the information on the [?] if you purchased the private version. If you bought the private version a workaround might be to put a black box mc over the [?] or as you point out just find it in the code and change the information.

I was trying to find the code but is really hide :gm: and for the MC over the [?] The simbole comes over any MC or button they htink in evrything, other ideas?

  • what exactly did you change? If you changed the file names, then the swf can't find the php scripts anymore!?

I was told by imagevuex tech support to change PHP extension to PHP4 since my Earthlink web host has PHP4 but, still it doesn't work. However, when I upload to VERIO web host which also use PHP4 the gallery works.

    Earthlink http://www.ketsana.com/upload
    VERIO http://www.balcro.com/upload

  • I think our posts crossed but I did post links for you to check out.

"Hotlinking", not sure what you mean?

    PHP "enter/return" example explained:

When I add a blank line at the top of the password PHP file (hit enter, line 1 blank) and upload the file I can log in to the admin section with anything. When I remove the space at the top of the PHP file I can't log in at all, not even with GUEST or ADMIN which are the defaults.

Not sure if someone else on the same host is running it...

    Mark

Hotlinking: prevent people from using your images om their domain, some how this made it impossible to load the images in flash when i tryed it, hotlinking is possibly disabled as it is not 'on' by default.

are the jpg saved using 'base line' format [option available in photoshop], flash can't read images saved in prograssive mode.

I can't help you with the admin issue, have no clue why this is happening.

do you have another domain on a different host, then you can find out rather it is a host issue or you own files/settings are not right.
    Try a home development server!

    good luck
    bye

  • hi

    I have imageview myself http://www.regime-syntax.net/imageview/
    hosted at www.unflux.net

At first I had isseus to, hotlinking was on this prevented the loading to, look into this!

    as far as
"if I hit enter/return at the top of the passwords PHP file and upload it I can log in...with any password I want."
I don't know what u mean by that?

go over the required step again [sure you have done this already but still...]

do you have a link where the application is runnin, this might helping you faster as we have a visual on what is and what is not going well.

is someone else at the same host runnin the application?

    bye

  • Digging up this thread from the past...does anybody have any experience with purchasing the simpleviewer source code? I did so this Thursday, but have yet to receive the files. I've sent a separate e-mail requesting feedback, but didn't get any answer to that either...does it take up a couple of days? According to the site you usually get the files within 24 hours and those are well passed.

Hope I don't have to file a claim with PayPal for this...it's the first online software purchase I've ever made.

    Regards,
    Joris

  • The images are loaded using a PHP script reading from a webserver folder structure. I am not sure what you mean by your last comment "autosize". Are you talking about the thumbnails?

  • Thank you fro those links :pleased: .

But someone know if there are free slideshows ? I remember that one from sephiroth.it (http://www.sephiroth.it/file_detail.php?id=119) it was great and free with all the code :sailor: I hope I can see and update of this slideshow.

Yes indeed. I purchased that bad boy a few months ago. The support is very good and he's continuosly making updates. It's almost like Flash itself, there are several people that have developed all sorts of programs to use with it from backend (server side) utilities to basic Imageready droplets.

Oh so worth the cash. Also check out SSPadmin.

And for my contribution. Here's another one that reminded me of Imagevue.

    Smooth Flash (http://www.smoothflash.com/functional/photo_gallery1/index.html)

    Easy Slide Show (http://www.flashslideshow.net/index.php)

Flipping Book (http://www.flippingbook.com/) (similar to Flash Flipper (http://www.koocaa.com/components/productcatalog/ProductCatalog.htm))

I hope that helps someone out. :pope:

  • I've downloaded the fla at http://www.liamegan.com/gal/album.fla
Looks way cool, but I'm not quite sure of the directory(ies) that my jpegs need to lie in? Is this code that functional that it can grab jpegs and upload them into this nice interface?

    -Brock

  • hey Lobo,

I received very good support from them. I had to send 2 e-mails for a couple questions and they gave me good enough answers for me to fix my problems.

Post any questions you might still have.

  • Thank you, andrthad,
Here is my question: in the left superior corner there is a [?] that if you put your mouse over comes Information about ImageVue adn mjau-mjau now, and if you pusch this simbole it goes to the imageVue main page, How can I change this link and information? I was serching in the script with out success, anyway I found that there is MC called: overInfo where the info is called dynamic.

Any Idea how to achive this?
    _Lobo_
    Thank in Advance

  • This is a great post! someone know more image viewers/ image gallerys ?

'flash can't "read" images saved in prograssive mode.'.

I mean "read" as in 'load'.
U dont have to import anything into the flash fla.

your question was about this right?

  • Hi,

I'm new to this forum however, I've been reading and got great info form this forum.
I just download imageVue and upload the "upload folder" to my web server. I rename "upload folder" to "imageview" Under "imageview" I created groupfolders and imagefolders, and put images in the imagefolder. when test in browers the gallery is not working. Earthlink is my web host if that make any difference.

This is what I see when test http://www.ketsana.com/upload/

    Can someone please help me.

    Thanks

  • Did you check that your jpeg are saved as non progressive ? Flash can't handle progressive jpegIt was PHP issue. I had to rename my PHP to PHP4 however, now my thumbnail/image doesn't load.

    http://www.ketsana.com/upload/

  • That was quick. Thanks...

Well, I upload everything as directed. CHMOD 777, Change image folders, etc. Basically everything according to the documentation. I have done this with both the stable version and the BETA that is posted as well.

First problem is logging in to admin. No matter what I do I cannot log in. I change the password file and upload with no luck. Now, I don't know much about PHP but playing with it I discovered that if I hit enter/return at the top of the passwords PHP file and upload it I can log in...with any password I want. I assume this is normal in PHP? Anyway, after logging in I can't do anything. When clicking on folders I get ERROR (are you familiar with the imagevue interface?)

When I upload images to the folders and access the main page the dropdown menu recognizes that I have images but nothing loads.

I contacted my host (www.interland.com (http://www.interland.com)) and I know that I support PHP but I also found out the GD is old (maybe 1.8.3?) and not the 2.? that is required to auto generate thumbs. This I can do on my own but not if nothing else is working. I am tearing my hair out. I have emailed him (karl?) but have not received any responses....

Thanks if you have any suggestions...

Earthlink is my web hosting I talked to them yesterday and they told me that my account does support PHP4.......

I guess I better call them again today.

    Thanks

  • I also bought SSP (and admin), it is very good and cheap ;)

  • hi all,

    I have imageview it's great!

recently I have uploaded it to my new webhosting account over at unflux.net
    http://www.regime-syntax.net/imageview/

Strange thing is when i visit my site using IE and mozilla the thumbnails load but when i click the thumbnail the large picture won't load at all.

first i thought, well maybe the pictures are saved in the wrong format options available in photoshop 'baseline ("standaard")', baseline "optimized" and Progressive. I know pictures must be saved with the baseline ("standaard") to work in imageview, so i i did but nothing changes at all.

then when i use opera browser, everything works well, so the format option is not the issue here.

I have the imageview app running on another server not hosted by unflux, www.wendyenharvey.nl here it works in all browsers.

does any one else has an idea why this is happening.

    thx

  • I can now confirm I have received the files in good order. Guess I was panicing too soon, but that was mainly due to the time pressure :)

what exactly are your error messages or what doesn't work.

  • I'm generalizing here, but there are some free ones throughout the forum and two on Kirupa tutes I believe.

The one's on the forum usually have some type of .fla with them to d/l.

There are one or two decent ones on the Macromedia Exchange site, you just have to look for 'em.

    Plan B: Google. :)
