Setting the time question

  • Is there any way to change the time on my xbox using media center? My uncle soft modded my xbox a different way the second time around, and it doesn't come up with the blue screen (well mine was blue) where I know where to change the time at, but since it doesn't have that for some reason.... I really have no idea on the specs of my xbox nor the modd on it. I know we used the game save way through mech assualt but that's all I know lol , and that the only screen that comes up is the back ground I have on it.... . I read that it may hurt the system if the time is off, so I wanted to know how I can change it. Thx in advance.


  • So, from what I understand from the manual, I download and FTP, (because I think my uncle didn't put ne on my xbox like my brother the second time around, but idk since I have not idea what he put on here for sure), then...I delete the old xbmc and replace it with the new one like you said?

  • In XBMC, go to Settings>>Appearance>>Region, and then you will see the options to set time.

    You can change the time manually or you can use a time server host.


  • You use an ethernet cable if you want to connect the xbox to a router or you need a crossover cable if you want to connect the xbox directly to your computer.

    A crossover Cable is the one that you would connect two xbox's together.

  • Well, thanks for the manual, but seriously on th eupdate part it's kinda confusing....also is there a way to hook my xbox to my computer to update it? or do I have to do it some other way.... thx in advance,


  • wow. you really need to read the manual. To update, just ftp using different dashboard (like evox) and delete the entire xbmc directory and replace it with a new build of xbmc.


  • see,i don't really know everything about it, but I think i don't have the msdashboard? but I have one where I can change the background on my xbox,I am not sure because my uncle is the computer genius and I am not.

    I know how to get to xbmc and all that, but I'm not all that great on where everything is and what it all does lol, so I was wondering if I can get help with that...


  • sorry, didn't end up getting one. Does it HAVE to be an ethernet cable? or can it be the cable that you can hook between two xbox's? probably a stupid question and I bet I know the answer.
